In the place of the former pools and courts, a new wing with 66 apartments was planned. However, the hotel's success in 2000 inspired the owners to revise the master plan, leading to the construction of an impressive tower with 156 rooms, a 720 m2 event hall, a helipad with a VIP waiting room, the Cave do Douro wine cellar, and the Nossa Senhora da Conceição chapel.
